The Colosseum itself was fantastic—both getting in and during the tour—with no issues at all. We arrived a little early and didn’t have to wait long. After the Colosseum, we went to Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, also without any problems.

The meeting point was easy to find. We met a friendly woman there. She gave us our tickets and more information. We didn’t have to wait long to get inside the Colosseum. It was an interesting visit.

Very friendly welcome from the person in charge of giving out the tickets and Qr code for the audio tour. It was a good omen before a two-hour non-stop enchantment. Many thanks.

Very very friendly driver. what I did like particularly was during the times when the driver wasn't telling us what was going on and what was where , you played fabulous Italian music. it really added to the ambience. I loved it ! very helpful people on the streets not pushy very helpful and courteous. Really enjoyed all the places you had to offer and they seemed to be so many buses. I was able to get off and get on with such ease. very very happy very easy booking everything went extremely well thank you. You certainly helped me enjoy a day in Rome.

Palazzo Barberini Highlights

Architecture

Palazzo Barberini is the prototypical Baroque palace. Interestingly, the talented architects Carlo Maderno, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, and Francesco Borromini transformed the pre-existing structure instead of demolishing it and starting from scratch. This new plan was designed in the unconventional shape of an “H” to create a structure with open wings framing a wide, lush garden with secret courtyards.

Frescos

The famous Baroque fresco by Pietro da Cortona, known as the ‘Allegory of Divine Providence and Barberini Power,’ graces the ceiling of the salon. This masterpiece grew highly impactful in the palatial styles and styles of church ceiling decorations thereafter. Its far-reaching influence is witnessed in the throne room of the Royal Palace of Madrid and the Ca' Rezzonico in Venice, among others.

Artwork & Collections

The museum houses several astounding pieces of art from across history. Here are some of the famed artworks housed in the museum that you must view on your visit:

  • Portrait of a Young Woman or (La Fornarina) - by Raphael
  • Narcissus by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio
  • Saint Cecilia and the Angel by Carlo Saraceni
  • David with Head of Goliath by Gian Lorenzo Bernini
  • Veiled Woman (sculpture) - by Antonio Corradini
  • The Three Fates - by Sodoma
